Avaloq is a fast-growing provider of Software as a Service and Business Process as a Service for banks and wealth managers and ASSL branch provides “third parties” applications which enrich the core functionality with printing subsystems, web internal application, e-banking solutions etc.

CONFIGURATION AND DEPLOY TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS ENGINEER (MARCH 2017 – TO DATE)

Part of the release, configuration and deploy team, I’m responsible for delivery in Test, Acceptance and Production environment of various heterogeneous applications that developer provides. In our team we pilot and connect various actors (DEV, PM, TM, SM) and customers to delivery functional sw on schedules.

Main activities on linux/unix servers:

• SW configuration and deploy on all environments (TST, ACC, PRD, DRC)

• SW troubleshooting and debug on all environments

• Release management on time schedules

• Developer, Test Manager and Service Manager support

• Process analysis and building support

• Technical solutions support and integration on Linux/Unix and Web applications

Some achievements:

Actively contributing to the great success of the “burn-all-past-records” project of 3 new DB BUs with the objective of:

• More than 350 different SW to configure and deploy in all environment on different servers

• More than 120 releases deployed across TST, ACC, PRD and DRC phases

• More than 1200 tasks to accomplish all activities

Lastminute.com is an OTA company specialized in delivering cost effective travel booking solution to the consumer, business and wholesale markets. The Company is quoted on the SWX stock exchange and counts +500 employees in their headquarter in Chiasso, Switzerland and +1000 employees worldwide.

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS ENGINEER (JULY 2015 - TO DATE)

I am responsible to coordinate technical tasks through the four BI teams to ensure the design and implementation of effective and maintainable BI solutions for the internal Business partners.

• KPI reporting assurance

• KPI ETL DWH/DB flows templates design: new flow deployment reduced to less than 1 hour

• Vertica DWH usage/best practice courses: query efficiency increased by 200%

SENIOR SYSTEM AND DB ADMINISTRATOR (APRIL 2010 - JULY 2015)

I was part of the system engineering team responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of all database infrastructure environments and solutions within the company.

Main activities:

• Operational management of database testing, pre-production and production environments

• Automation of extract-transform-load operations, including performance and quality management

• Backup and data security strategy

• Medium and long term strategy definition for the database infrastructure

• Infrastructure improvements, maintenance and consolidation

Some achievements:

• Queries templates for software deployment: DB deployment sped up from several hours to 30min

• Deploy rollback availability by pre-query backup: with templates we built rollback queries which save time

• ETL orchestration for exchange rates and Timetables: from 6 h manual tasks to single fully automated 1h task

• Backup consolidation and cost reduction: from no backup to restore possibility to single DB table

ENI is the largest energy company in Italy and a major European player. Their offering ranges from solid fuel energy to renewable fonts solutions for the enterprise and consumer markets. I worked within the Unix group and had responsibility over the deployment, maintenance and performance management of infrastructure servers used within new CRM sector.

• Infrastructure servers deployment planning and execution

• Siebel Geo Cluster DR certification (cluster server side): improvement concurrency on DR test to let Geo Cluster become operational after 2h

• Oracle rack failure recovery: from failing cluster to fully functional after half day

• CRM project Oracle SUN cluster integration: Task needed to let CRM project startup

UBI Centro System, MILAN (IT) JULY 2008 - FEBRUARY 2009 (contractor)

UBI Centro System was a branch of UBI Banca dedicated to bank complimentary services like insurances, mortgage and loans, credit cards and other ancillaries products. The Company is quoted on the Milan stock exchange and count 17000 employee and 200 employees in that Milan site.

I worked within the Unix group and had responsibility over the deployement, maintenance and performance management of infrastructure servers used within the services sector.

• Backup consolidation and improvement: I reorganized backup to complete all priority backups within the night

• Design for new backup infrastructure: I designed the new backup cluster which do all backup in the night

• Better availability with BMC patrol template: I let operators integrate new server monitors in minutes and easily
